Mass in G minor

Event

?

Composed

Composed by Antonio Lotti
Jan Dismas Zelenka arranged the work in Dresden c1730 for performance purposes. In doing so, he adpated the work to the usage in Dresden in that he provided for a more colourful wind instrumentation. Thus, for example, he strengthened the string tutti over longer stretches with oboes, added a group of woodwinds to the interplay of the high strings in the Laudamus te, and transformed the oboe part into a trumnpet part in the Gloria in excelsis.
J.S. Bach probably performed J.D. Zelenka's arrangement of the work in Leipzig, 1732-1735.

Latin Mass (Gloria & Kyrie)
