Bach Santiago, la cantata del domingo (Beethoven FM) [Radio program]

History & Mission:

Fulfilling a dream treasured for decades, on Sunday July 15, 2018, at the Iglesia Luterana El Redentor in Santiago, Chile, the Bach Santiago enterprise began a great journey, which will compromise their work for more than six years: interpreting the integral of the Cantatas by J.S. Bach, one of the most extraordinary musical corpus in universal art.
Many are the companions of the route that for more than 30 years have listened to this yearning, in the middle of trips, courses, workshops, tours, rehearsals and concerts. Possibly incredulous, his eyes never stopped shining, at such an occurrence.
Today they begin, with the conviction that Chilean singers, instrumentalists, vocal ensembles and choirs are ripe to face the task. Our conservatories, music schools and our national programs: Growing up Singing, FOJI and the public, have paved the way.
The primary and advanced musical studies programs have never stopped considering J.S. Bach as one of the bases of the training of performers and composers. He always collaborates and indicates the way in his encyclopedic eagerness to tackle all the possibilities of the contrapunct, the instrumentation and the singing, establishing the techniques of musical learning, from a beginning child, to the professional musician.
It will be a beautiful and long day, full of musical challenges and economic uncertainties. They will ensure that there are always the experienced and the advanced students, those from inside and those from outside Chile, those from 415 and those from 440. That Bach Santiago is a place of meeting and academic and artistic welcome for all of us who love this inexhaustible legacy.
