Note by Note Translation into French of Bach Cantatas

The German text, and a note by note translation in French on the same document, allows the non-Germanists to understand the symbolic system contained in each word or in each sentence.

The translation maintains the meter of the original text and, as often as possible, the placement of words which are featured with special affect in the music.

This sometimes requires abandoning normal word order and the contraction of syllables. It means that the translation should be followed while listening to the cantata and, if possible, reading the partition.
