Version in modern German

1. Arie

Nach ausgeloeschtem Feindschaftsfeuer
spricht Jesus: Friede, Friede sei mit euch!
Ach, was kann nun die Seele schrecken,
die Gottes Friedenpalme decken!
Ihr Welt und Hoellen ungeheuer,
schaut! mich schuetzt Jesus Gnadensreich.

2. Rezitativ

Nun kann ja meine suesse Lust
in schoenstem Friede lachen;
es wallet alle recht in meiner Brust;
der Friede Gottes macht in mir sich offenbar
und kann in Sicherheit und in Gefahr,
den Glauben hoechst erfreur, die Hoelle traurig machen.

3. Arie

Nun traure, seufze, wins’le, weine,
du schaugetrages Fuerstentum!
An Jesus Sieg‘ und deinem Leiden
kann meine Lust sich zweifach weiden;
aus beiden quillet Lust und Ruhm.
