Transcription

Version in modern German

1. Arie

Der Regen Gottes trieft auf gute Sprossen
und muss das Unkraut mit erziehn.
Wo jene sich nur einzeln zeigen
die geknickten Halme neigen,
kann dies gehaeust und munter bluehn.

2. Rezitativ

Gerechter Gott, lass endlich doch,
ein Ende der verruchten Welt zu machen,
den letzten Donner krachen!
Nur schone noch, so lange diese Tage waehren,
der wenig Guten ehren!

3. Arie

Zeit der Ernte, Tag der Freuden,
eile, brich einmal herein!
Moegt‘ ich doch, mich abzumaehen,
bald die Sichel schaerfen sehen
und in Gottes Scheuren sein!
