Version in modern German

1. Arie

Ihr Woelfe, droht mit euren Klauen!
Den Schafstall Christi rueht kein Grauen,
denn Jesus ist selber die Tuere dazu.
Wenn wir von solchen Winkeln weichen,
wo falsche Dieb‘ und Moerder schleichen,
so decket uns Friede, so labet uns Ruh.

2. Rezitativ

Nun, Herr! So soll mich denn von dir nichts treiben;
sei du mein Hirte doch!
Ich will dein Schaeflein bleiben.

3. Arie

Himmlischer Hirte der glaeubigen Herde!
Deine Beschirmung vergnuegt mich allein.
Lass auch auf den fetten Weiden
deiner suessen Himmelsfreuden
mich dein frohes Schaefgen sein.
